Superior Finishes
Every composite deck that we build includes hidden fasteners, helical screw piles, and professionally trimmed stairs as standard, not upgrades. This ensures consistent quality between projects and that the deck we hand off to you has the quality we would expect on our own.
Design and Permit Assistance
We take care of all structural design and engineering for your project. Every deck is designed in advance using professional design software and we ensure it meets or exceeds local building requirements and the National Building Code of Canada. We size joists and beams to limit deflection to less than L/480, so your deck feels solid and never bouncy. If required, we can also handle building permit applications with the City of Saskatoon, Martensville, Warman, or the RM of Corman Park and coordinate all necessary inspections.
FAQ
Decks typically range from $5,000 to $60,000+, depending on size, materials, site conditions, and additional features. Composite deck boards generally range from $4 to $15+ per linear foot, depending on the product line and features, while pressure-treated decking is around $1.50 per linear foot.
However, deck boards are only one component of the total project cost. When framing, foundations, railing, stairs, and labour are factored in, a typical composite deck is approximately 20–30% more than a comparably sized pressure-treated wood deck.
No, to accurately mark out the property lines, we just need a copy of the site plan (surveyor’s certificate) that was provided when you purchased your home. This document includes measurements from your home’s foundation and the locations of survey monument pins, which we use to determine the exact property boundaries. Before fence construction begins, it’s important to decide whether the fence will be installed directly on the property line (shared) or entirely within your property.
Helical screw piles are an engineered foundation system that works exceptionally well for deck construction. They install quickly (typically within 5–10 minutes per pile) and can be built on immediately, eliminating the need to wait for concrete to cure and helping projects move forward faster. The installation equipment is fitted with a torque monitor, ensuring each pile achieves the required load-bearing capacity for the specific soil conditions on your property.
Both methods are acceptable in Saskatchewan, but each has trade-offs. Setting fence posts fully in concrete provides excellent resistance to wind loads due to the added mass and rigidity once cured. However, as pressure-treated wood naturally dries and shrinks over time, small gaps can form between the post and the hardened concrete. This can allow water to collect between the post and concrete, increasing the risk of premature rot.
A method we prefer is to place concrete in the bottom 1–2 feet of the hole for structural strength, then backfill the upper portion with compacted native soil. This approach provides solid load-bearing support while allowing better drainage near the surface, helping direct water away from the post and extending its lifespan.
A professionally built deck can increase the value of your home by expanding your usable outdoor living space. Outdoor areas are highly desirable, and a well-designed deck can improve both functionality and appeal.
To maximize return on investment, the size and finish level of the deck should match the value and scale of the home. A well-proportioned, thoughtfully designed deck typically delivers the best balance of enjoyment and long-term value.
